Please join us for our annual Faculty Speaker Luncheon, "The Mind-Body Connection: Innovative Approaches to Wellness at Wellesley and Beyond,"  featuring Connie Bauman, Emerita Professor of the Practice. Professor Bauman will be joined by Kathryn Mackintosh '03, Executive Director of the Wellesley College Alumnae Association, who will share highlights about Wellesley today.

How does a wellness practice relate to your emotional, physical and intellectual life?  Professor Bauman shares her research and teaching on the mental and physical well-being of college students, including how improved self-care practices enhance mood, cognition and sleep. Discover how you, too can improve your well-being practices. Connie Bauman, Emerita Professor of the Practice, taught at Wellesley for 38 years, retiring in 2018. Professor Bauman joined the Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics (PERA) Dept. as the first athletic trainer for intercollegiate sports. She was the Athletic Director for the National Women's Rowing Team and served on the Sports Medicine Staff of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. Her fields of expertise include Sports Medicine, Scientific Foundations of Wellbeing, and Holistic Approaches to Achieve Health and Wellness. Honors include receiving the Pinanski Prize for excellence in teaching and the Linda K Vaughan Award, the PERA Department's highest honor, for relentless passion, outstanding support and dedication.

Kathryn Harvey Mackintosh '03 returned to Wellesley as Executive Director of the WCAA in 2019. Her career in higher education has included roles in development, graduate admissions and employer partnerships. Most recently she was Director of Institutional Research at Boston College. She majored in political science at Wellesley and received her M.B.A. from Boston College.
